A certain National Post reporter has a little piece in today’s Arts & Life section about the Brandy Alexander, a forgotten cocktail recalled with admirable artistic appropriateness by Ms. Leslie Feist on her new album, The Reminder.

The funny thing about that drink is that, if any restaurant pastry chef was feeling wiley enough, it could be renamed and served for desert and it would likely be a hit. The Brandy Alexander, under that name, just has too much of an antique stigma in the label, since the recipe is still cool enough to use. Fiest is onto something; I can’t wait to hear the song!
